“Protect me don’t bruise me”
Jigsaw has embarked on an exciting new business venture with the launch of Fruity Faces, cute and cool clip-on fruit containers for kids’ schoolbags.
Fruity Faces are inflatable, help protect fruit from being bruised and there are six different types to collect.
Jigsaw’s Chief Executive (Strategic Operations) Liz Kinley says holding the licence to market Fruity Faces in New Zealand means that Jigsaw will have a revenue stream that isn’t dependent on sponsorship.
“Marketing Fruity Faces will help raise money which Jigsaw can then spend on supporting families to promote kids wellbeing,” says Liz.
The containers will protect the fruit from being bruised and hopefully lead to children enjoying more fruit at school.
“It’s about encouraging children to be healthy and letting them know that eating fruit is fun. The container means the child’s banana doesn’t go manky as it would if it were in their schoolbag. We want children to look after their fruit and keep it safe,” says Liz.
“At the same time we want children to grow up safe and protected. There’s a parallel: Protect me, don’t bruise me.”
